Pro-Nursing Symposium was endorsed by participation of 7 EU-countries.

We held the Pro-Nursing symposium in Bonn on 24th June, 2016. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Madjid Fathi, head of Institute of Knowledge Based Systems and Knowledge Management, University of Siegen, Germany, welcomed the participants who were from 7 EU-countries, namely, Austria, England, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, The Netherlander. Dr. Torsten Dunkel from National Agency Education for Europe at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (NA-BiBB) opened the event by emphasizing the importance of concentrating on bridging between nursing education and labour market demands. The morning session started by the keynote speech of Mr. Carl Roovers from Center of Educational Training, University Hospital of Bonn, Germany, entitled as "Shortage of Qualified Nursing Staff - An Obstacle for the Field of Nursing in Germany?" Afterwards, Marjan Khobreh from Institute of Knowledge Based Systems and Knowledge Management presented the Pro-Nursing project and also demonstrated the project results. In addition, the Pro-Nursing application has been tested by the symposium participants and their comments have been collected. In the afternoon session, Dr. Sirpa Laitinen-Vaeaenaenen, Chair of EAPRIL and lecturer at the Teacher Education College of JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Finland, gave her keynote speech on "Bridging work-based education and the labour market". Besides, the researchers from Austria, Germany, Hungary and the Netherland presented the results of their studies and works. The three of the presented papers were addressing the intersection areas between Pro-Nursing and EduWorks, which is a MCA-ITN funded under the FP7 framework. The afternoon session lasted with the keynote speech of Ms. Freda Vasse , Frenetti B.V. The Netherlands entitled as "The Perspective of the Golden Triangle - Professionalism in Nursing, Team effectiveness and Complexity of Care: First results of four hospitals". Then the selected posters from Johanitter Austria, Fivan, CCP and Concentra have been demonstrated and the participants had time for open discussion on the topics and also networking. The one-day symposium ended by the round-table of "Technology Enhanced Nursing Education and Training". Dr. Stefan Mol, and Dr.-Ing. Fazel Ansari moderated the discussions in which the focus was placed on the "New Nursing Skills and Task in the era of Industry 4.0". Program of Pro-Nursing Symposium

The program of the Pro-Nursing symposium is available here . Pro-Nursing symposium will have three sessions. In the morning session Mr. Carl Roovers from University Hospital of Bonn, Germany, will give a keynote speech entitled "Shortage of Qualified Nursing Staff - An Obstacle for the Field of Nursing in Germany?", and also Pro-Nursing application will be demonstrated and tested by the participants. Besides the four selected industry partners will present their posters. At the end, in the round-table of "Technology Enhanced Nursing Education and Training", Dr. Mol and Dr. Ansari will collect the opinions of the panel and conclude the symposium. DEKRA joined to Pro-Nursing as the associated partner

Pro-Nursing singed the associated partisanship agreement with DEKRA Akademie GmbH representing "HealthCareEurope" (HCEU) project. HCEU is an European project implemented between September 2015 and August 2018 by a European transdisciplinary partnership under lead of DEKRA Akademie GmbH, Germany. HCEU 's results are meant to support migrant workers within nursing and elderly care to move freely on the European labour market under recognition of their qualification.

The Notification of the acceptance has been sent to the authors

The review process has been ended. The program chair has been sent the notification of the acceptance to the authors. The authors are asked to apply the reviewers' comments and submit the modified version by 22.05.2015.

The abstract submission for the Pro-Nursing symposium has been closed

The deadline of abstract submission is over. Pro-Nursing program chair received the abstracts submitted by the authors from seven European countries. The review process starts and the review report and the notification of the acceptance will be send to the authors by 08.05.2016.

The deadline of abstract submission is extended to 15.04.2016

The Pro-Nursing symposium provides an international forum for researchers and practitioners in the field of vocational learning, technology enhanced learning and particularly vocational education in the domain of health and nursing. We encourage a wide spread of researchers and practitioners to join us for exchanging novel ideas and concepts toward shaping the future of education and learning especially in the domain of health and nursing. You have the opportunity to submit your abstract which will be peer reviewed, and attend the symposium to present your paper free of charge. The deadline is extended to April 15th, 2016 (23:59 GMT). EAPRIL joined to Pro-Nursing as the associated partner

European Association for Practitioner Research on Improving Learning (EAPRIL) aims at promoting practice-based research on learning issues in the context of initial, formal, lifelong and organisational learning with the goal to enhance practice. In this context EAPRIL start collaboration with Pro-Nursing to exchange lessons learned obtained in the practice world.

Pro-Nursing has been presented at HCEU workshop in Krakow, Poland on March 17, 2016

HCEU project invited Pro-Nursing team to give a speech about the project to HCEU network including healthcare, education and recognition experts and professionals. The objective of HCEU workshop was making healthcare qualifications comparable across borders in Europe. Marjan Khobreh represented Pro-Nursing consortium and gave a talk entitled as 'Building interfaces between nursing tasks, nursing knowledge and training contents'.

The consortium came together in Amsterdam on February 16, 2016 and had a fruitful and productive discussions on the project progress and the next steps.

To better understand the knowledge and skills required for the nursing profession, we first need a thorough understanding of the task nurses perform in their job. This survey has the goal to validate the list of nursing tasks that we collected with the help of interviews and observations. For this we need your expertise!

Pro-Nursing Symposium

On 24.06.2016, Pro-Nursing will organize a symposium to enlarge the network of the stakeholders. The symposium will be hosted by the project partner, Beta Klinik, in Bonn. Within the symposium the results of the project will be presented to the potential stakeholders and also the keynotes speakers will address the latest challenges and technological advancements in nursing education and training. The symposium provides opportunity for interested and associated industry partners to introduce their products and for researchers and students to present their work-in-progress and research activities. Parent Project of Pro-Nursing obtained the EAPRIL Certificate of Best Research & Practice Project

The European Association for Practitioner Research on Improving Learning (EAPRIL) has organized its annual conference at the University of Luxembourg from 24-27th November 2015, where Med-Assess and its decedent project, Pro-Nursing, has been presented at the opening and closing session in front of more than 480 participants, mainly researchers and practitioners from the (lifelong) learning domain. In the closing session, the Med-Assess project has received the certificate of "Best Research & Practice Project" (BR&PP). In addition to the EAPRIL- BR&PP certificate, the parent project of Pro-Nursing, Med-Assess, has obtained three certificates and acknowledgements as Winner of the Theta Award 2015 for Person-Job-Fit Innovation, "Best Practice" selected by the European Association for the Education of Adults (EAEA) for Grundtvig Award 2015 of Adult Education and Health and "Good Practice" selected by the NA-BiBB for the project of ?New Skills for New Jobs? in 2014. The great achievements of Med-Assess definitely encourage us to promote our research in the domain of nursing education and training.

Fivan joined Pro-Nursing as the associated partner

To collaborate closely with Fivan , Pro-Nursing consortium and Fivan make an associated partnership agreement. Fivan represents three different aspects: a research-focused part represented by the Fundación Instituto Valenciano de Neurorrehabilitación, a health care provider aspect represented by the Fivan Neurological Rehabilitation Center and a technological and commercialization-oriented part represented by Soluciones en Neurociencias SL. In this way, Fivan brings together a unique mix of research, clinical and technical expertise, as well as product development and commercialization know-how.

Pro-Nursing team attended the symposium of "New Skills for New Jobs" organized by Na-BiBB

The project coordinator, Institute of Knowledge-Based Systems (University of Siegen), and Beta Klinik have presented Pro-Nursing in the workshop of "Future skill needs in nursing" with the Berlin symposium organized by the National Agency - Federal Institute for Vocational Training (NA-BiBB). NA-BiBB organized the symposium with the topic of "New skills for new employment opportunities / New Skills for New Jobs" (Europe 2020) in Berlin on September 21, 2015. The stakeholders in vocational education and the interested expert communities have been invited for building a network towards bridging the world of education and work. Second project management meeting

On 13.03.2015, Pro-Nursing consortium came together for the second project management meeting at Beta-Klinik in Bonn. Besides the management topics, the technical issues discussed in details. University of Amsterdam and Netpositive interviewed with Beta Klinik nurses for collecting data, analysing the nursing job and modelling the nursing processes.

Pro-Nursing Kick-Off Meeting in Beta Klinik, Bonn on 24.11.2014

University of Siegen as the coordinator organized a one-day meeting in Bonn. All the consortium members came together in Beta Klinik and discussed about the project outputs and activities in detail.

Pro-Nursing coordinator attended the NA-BiBB Kick-Off Meeting of the ERASMUS + projects on 16.09.201

German National Agency at BIBB (NA) cordially invited Pro-Nursing to kick-off event for "Erasmus + strategic partnership in 2014". The event was aimed at all project representatives and agents, the strategic partnership began in vocational education and adult education in September 2014. The event was held in Guennewig Hotel Bristol, Bonn, on Tuesday, 16.09.2014.

Pro-Nursing has been acknowledged in a book chapter with the title of "An Ontology Matching Approach for Improvement of Business Process Management". The book of "Integrated Systems: Innovations and Applications" is edited by Prof. Madjid Fathi and published by Springer.

Pro-Nursing is the descendant of Med-Assess project which has been recently awarded as the winner of Theta Award 2015 for Person Job-Fit Innovation.
